Laugh! Now I'm Filming Comedy

Turns out there is a thriving amateur stand-up comedy scene in Richmond. I've been to a couple of open mic comedy nights at Cafe Diem [Every other Monday, more info, visit their facebook page ] and a Super Friends Camp [ Monthly, their facebook ] at New York Deli in Carytown.

Tonight was my first time filming stand up comedy. It's easier to edit and upload because I don't have to mix the sound. Still using iMovie, though I'm trying to learn Final Cut Express, I've taken some tutorials and it is a very cool tool. I want to start editing all videos in Final Cut. I have a backlog of video I need to edit and upload ASAP.

Anyhow, for your entertainment. Mostly Richmond comedians but some out of towner/s too.

Filmed Music Innovation

I just edited up a couple of older performances yesterday. The Intelligence from September 19, 2009 and Black Hearted Diamond Boy from December 4, 2009. I also recently edited the Bermuda Triangles from February 6, 2010. Not that I think people will be particularly interested but these videos are notable because it is the first time I have synced the video's audio with the mixed audio from a separate source. After watching my earlier videos and thinking, man it's weird, someone can be speaking or hitting a drum stick right in front of the camera and since the recording source is further away and the levels taken down, you can't hear the person right in front of you.

So here are these videos. And older ones where I only used the recorded and mixed track with the video. See if you can tell a difference.
